OpportunitySection1

Advances in AI Technology and Social Inequality

The first section, “Opportunity,” examines social inequality caused by technological advancement
and presents a vision for an inclusive technology discourse.
GyeongGi Province, the heart of Korea’s innovation ecosystem,
pursues technology as an “opportunity” to reduce social gaps and expand jobs.
It goes beyond merely supporting technological progress,
building education infrastructure such as the AI Campus and Digital Learning Centers
to lower entry barriers and bridge the digital divide.
This session discusses AI and technology directions that can alleviate social inequality
and proposes related policy alternatives.

A Climate-Economy Model for Mutual Growth of Agriculture and Industry: Rural RE100

The “Climate” session discusses climate policy models that respond to the rural extinction crisis caused by demographic shifts and climate change.
Focusing on GyeongGi Province’s leading climate-economy initiative, “GyeongGi RE100,”
the session explores how a Rural RE100 model—where agriculture and industry work together—
can serve as a dual-purpose strategy for revitalizing rural areas and boosting industrial competitiveness.
It also examines the direction for building an AI-based agricultural ecosystem
and the roles of central and local governments in transitioning toward a sustainable and inclusive climate economy.

The discourse on human-centered life and technological progress continues in the “Care” session.
This section explores development directions for technologies that uphold human dignity
and discusses how AI can support the creation of a people-centered and inclusive social safety net.
In this context, GyeongGi Province is actively introducing AI care services
for vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities and the elderly,
and is proactively identifying individuals in need using big-data indicators such as unpaid utility bills.
The session reviews GyeongGi’s policies and further develops strategies

LaborSection4

Platform Economy and Jobs in the 3X Era (AX, DX, GX)

Amid industrial changes driven by the digital transformation and the rise of the platform economy,
the “Labor” session delves into new models for future jobs.
GyeongGi Province is conducting various policy experiments to reshape the labor paradigm.
To support childcare and family care, it is piloting a 4.5-day workweek in both public and private sectors
without reducing wages.
The Province is also implementing “0.5 Job & 0.75 Job,” a system that shortens working hours to half or three-quarters
while supplementing the reduced income, aiming to create flexible work environments, boost productivity,
and improve work–life balance for residents.
These four key policy initiatives led by GyeongGi can serve as a guiding model
for the direction of public policy in an era of major transformation.
